For lighting players the energy label is not optional. Since 1 September 2021, new European rules apply to light sources: Regulation (EU) 2019/2015 for the energy label and (EU) 2019/2020 for ecodesign.
What the rules require
- Light sources carry an EU energy label on the rescaled A to G scale
- Every light source placed on the market must be registered in the EPREL database, with the product information sheet and the technical documentation
- The separate energy label for luminaires has been discontinued, but a product that itself qualifies as a light source still falls under the labelling obligation
The right value, demonstrable, on every channel
A PIM keeps the energy label and EPREL data linked to the product and the variant, with version control and logging. So you never publish a wrong or outdated label, and you can demonstrate which value was published and when.
