From supplier sheet to sales-ready product page, for every channel.
Thousands of articles from hundreds of suppliers, delivered in varying quality, sold in store, on your webshop, on bol and Amazon and via feeds to Google, Meta and increasingly AI assistants. One source that receives, improves and translates per channel, with the legal information every product page must show since September 2026.
Product fiche · automatic
liveFive questions in one week, and a different file for every question.
A supplier delivers sixty new articles via the GS1 database, but the webshop only imports Excel. Google rejects 1,400 ads because the images are smaller than 500 pixels. bol reports that the content score is dropping and that a competitor now supplies the product sheet. Legal asks whether the warranty information is ready on every product page. And a brand recalls a product.
Incoming sheets in 400 formats
GS1 sheets, syndication platforms, brand portals and above all Excel templates that differ per supplier. The second delivery from the same supplier overwrites the texts you had just improved.
Every channel its own rules
Google demands 500 by 500 px before 31 January 2027, Amazon a main image filling 85 percent of the frame, bol bans prices and vague sustainability claims in the text. The rules change every year.
The product page as a legal document
Warranty notice, repairability, software update period, lowest price of 30 days, manufacturer and EU responsible person, warnings in NL and FR. The Economic Inspection found infringements at 97 percent of inspected webshops in 2025.

Receive, improve, translate per channel. From one source.
Import profile per supplier
Sheets from My Product Manager or GDSN come in with GTIN, GPC brick and validated specifications. For suppliers sending Excel or PDF, you define a mapping once. The delivered sheet stays stored next to your own improved version.
Channel versions and channel rules
Per channel a title structure, image selection and category, with the rules as validation before export: no price in a bol text, no image under 500 pixels to Google, an EPREL code with every energy label.
Legal information as specifications
Warranty (duration, free of charge, conditions), repairability, software update period and environmental claims with evidence document sit on the product and go via the connectors to webshop and marketplaces. The readiness shows which articles still lack them.
Store and online from the same source
Labels, posters and leaflet pages come from the PIM, so reference price, energy label and warranty label are the same in store as online. Stock per store and pick-up time from the ERP to product page, Google feed and click-and-collect.
What your product data must be able to do in retail.
A selection from the field model in the whitepaper, for a non-food retailer with stores, webshop and marketplaces.
Identification and classification
Own article number, GTIN of consumer and trade unit, brand, model and MPN, supplier with GLN, source and date of the sheet, GPC brick, google_product_category and the category per marketplace, plus webshop categories, themes and store assortment.
Commercial
Title per channel and language, short and long description with bullets, sales price with 30-day price history per channel, content and unit price, stock per store and webshop, delivery and pick-up time, shipping cost and return period for Google and the AI feeds.
Warranty and sustainability
Legal warranty (notice), commercial warranty with duration and conditions, repairability score or parts and repair service, software update period, and every environmental claim with substantiation and label with certification scheme.
Compliance
Manufacturer and EU responsible person, warnings in NL, FR and DE, age limit, battery characteristics and Bebat, Recupel and Fost Plus codes, eco-voucher flag, and the article-order-customer link for recalls.
Technical and energy
Specifications per product group with unit, dimensions and weight of product and packaging, material and fibre composition, energy class with EPREL number and product information sheet for white goods and lighting.
Assets and data quality
Packshot white 1:1 and 3:4, lifestyle, detail, video and alt text per image, manual and product information sheet as accessible PDF, completeness score per channel, GS1 validation status, source per specification and AI flag on images.
The complete field model, with level (product, variant, supplier sheet, channel version), data type and the channel for which each field is mandatory, is in chapter 3 of the whitepaper.
The sheet comes in, the product page goes out.
In retail, product data has two faces: hundreds of suppliers on the incoming side, ten points of sale on the outgoing side. What each channel asks for, and what PimLayer exports per channel.
Live in one month, product group by product group.
No long IT project. This is the order from the whitepaper, as we apply it at Belgian retailers.
Inventory and data design
Which suppliers, which channels, which product groups make revenue. Product tree, specification library per product group, taxonomy and validation rules, before you import a single sheet.
Onboard suppliers
GS1 sheets imported directly, an import profile per Excel supplier, validation on receipt (GTIN, mandatory fields, image resolution) and the delivered sheet stored next to your own version.
Complete the product page
Titles, bullets and image sets per channel, warranty and sustainability information as specifications, price history and reference price, manufacturer and EU responsible person for everything you source outside the EU.
First channel live
Your webshop, the Google feed or bol fed automatically. Then you scale up, product group by product group and channel by channel, through to store posters and checkout.
Frequently asked questions from retail
Can PimLayer import product data from the GS1 database and supplier Excels?
Yes. Sheets from My Product Manager or GDSN come in with their GTIN, GPC brick and validated specifications; for suppliers sending Excel or PDF, you define an import profile once (which column to which specification, which unit, which language). The delivered sheet stays stored next to your own improved version, so the next delivery never overwrites your texts.
How do I manage a different title and image selection per marketplace?
With channel versions and channel rules: per channel you decide which title structure, which length, which images (white 1:1 for Amazon, 3:4 for TikTok, lifestyle for the webshop) and which category go along, and the platform checks the rules before export. You write the core description once; the translation per channel happens in the PIM, with AI help where you want it.
Can PimLayer manage the warranty and sustainability information of 27 September 2026?
Yes. Warranty (duration, free of charge, conditions), repairability, software update period and environmental claims with evidence document are specifications on the product; the webshop and the marketplaces get them via the existing connectors, and the readiness shows which articles still lack them. The price history for the lowest price of 30 days comes from your ERP or webshop; the PIM keeps the reference price and the promotion type on the variant.
What about the stores: shelf, posters and checkout?
The same source. Labels, posters and leaflet pages come from the PIM with Etalage, so the reference price, the energy label and the warranty label in store are the same as online. Stock per store and pick-up time come from the ERP and go via the PIM to the product page, the Google feed and the click-and-collect module.
How long does an implementation take, and do I need IT?
You usually go live within a month, 27 days on average, with onboarding included and a first channel fed automatically. PimLayer is configured, not programmed; IT mainly comes in for the ERP and checkout link.
