Compliance and standards: CE, DoP and EN under control

Manage CE marking, the declaration of performance (DoP) and EN standards from a single source, ready for the new European Construction Products Regulation (EU) 2024/3110.

For construction products, compliance is not an administrative detail; it is the condition for being on the market. And the bar is rising. Anyone who manages their product data centrally and under control is clearly at an advantage here.

CE marking and the declaration of performance

Most construction products covered by a harmonised standard carry a CE marking. Its basis is the declaration of performance (Declaration of Performance), in which the manufacturer declares the product’s essential characteristics against that standard. Those values must be correct, current and findable, in every language you sell in.

The new European Construction Products Regulation

The Construction Products Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 replaced the 2011 version and applies to most construction products from 8 January 2026. The most important shifts:

  • The declaration of performance becomes a combined declaration of performance and conformity
  • For priority product groups it must, from 2026, also include environmental data, starting with the Global Warming Potential (climate impact)
  • The environmental requirements expand gradually to a full life cycle assessment by 2032
  • A digital product passport is introduced, with unique identification and a link to BIM

The message is clear: product data, including environmental data, must be structured, current and demonstrable. Separate documents no longer suffice.

How PimLayer supports compliance

In PimLayer you link standards, CE data and the declaration of performance directly to the product. Every change is logged automatically, with rights management, so you have a full audit trail of who changed what and when. If a standard or value changes, you immediately see which products and datasheets are affected.

  • Standards, CE data and environmental data as structured attributes
  • Version control and automatic logging for a watertight audit trail
  • Multilingual publishing of compliant datasheets from a single source
  • Linked packaging data, useful for environmental reporting

This way compliance becomes not an annual stress test, but a consequence of how you work every day. PimLayer brings that within reach, with onboarding included and local service in Dutch and French.
